Tyres - A simplified version .......

It would appear there are still drivers confused about the new tyre rules, so here is a simplified version of the rule for this season.

1. The wet weather tyres; Hakka, AT1, RB1, and Ultragrippa may be used on any axle at any meeting by all drivers.

2. Drivers who DO NOT intend to qualify for the Nationals and who don't go to the BAS rounds can still use exactly the same tyres they used last year.

3. Drivers who take part in the National Qualifying races MUST use Option A tyres (60 shore hardness) or Option B on the drive axle unless they are using the wet weather tyres as in number 1 above.

4. If you attend the Nationals or a BAS round you MUST comply with the rules stated above in number 3.

These rules are only in place for this year so make sure you use up all your old tyres!!

There will be more details on National Qualifying very soon. Watch this space!

Tyres - A less simplified version! .......

NASA TYRE REGULATIONS 2011. FINAL REVISION 20th JANUARY, 2011

1. Wet weather tyres previously listed by Terry Allen (Tyre Co-Ordinator) are exempted from the tyre regs for 2011.  See below

2. Cars competing at the the Mens Nationals and L&J Nationals will use correctly marked tyres as specified in the 2011 Rule Books - (wet weather tyres specified in 1 above permitted).

Cars/Drivers taking part in National Qualifying races at Club and League events AND having pre-declared a desire to race at the Mens Nationals will use correctly marked tyres as specified in the 2011 Rule Books - in those qualifying races - (wet weather tyres specified in 1 above permitted) . NASA will issue to clubs and leagues guidance on how this is to be managed. Any attempt by a Club or League to avoid this requirement, in spirit or practice will be subject to action from NASA.

5. A driver who declares early that they do not wish to attend the Mens Nationals may not later change their mind.

6. All other races / race meetings (including non qualifying races) will run to the 2010 or 2011 tyre regulations (Option A) or 2011 tyre regulations (Option B).

Wet weather tyres permitted as in paragraph 1 for use on any axle at any meetings by qualifying or non qualifying drivers (in other words, everyone can use them).
